Graduate Education Retreat (GER) 2003
Introduction
The Graduate Education Retreat is a biennial meeting of the academic deans at U.S. ocean science graduate schools. Established in 1978, the original schools in attendance were the ten members of the Joint Oceanographic Institutions (JOI), and various other interested oceanographic institutions. The purpose of these meetings is to share information about, and discuss issues relevant to, graduate education in the ocean sciences and related fields. The most recent Graduate Education Retreat took place at the College of Marine Science of the University of South Florida during November 10-11, 2003. The following links provide background information and a summary of the meeting.
